Once again, it’s mid-week and I had a week where I didn’t pick out my clothes at the beginning of the week. When am I going to learn? This morning yielded much cooler than usual temperatures, so this is part of my issue…it’s 90 degrees one day….60 another. So today, I started knowing I was going to go the layered route. I started with the J.Crew Factory polka-dot chambray button down and almost opted for the linen-cotton polka-dot sweater but I’ve done that…I’m trying to keep it new! So buried in my stack of sweaters was this J.Crew sweater that I picked up for next to nothing last season. I tried pairing it with my feather paisley pencil skirt…which looked really great when I paired it on Polyvore and…not so much in real life. Scratch that. Or maybe it was the orange shoes I was trying to go with. So I went with my navy Banana Republic sloan capris and the finishing touch were the J.Crew suede Contessa bow pumps. I love that exhilarating feeling when I pick the perfect finishing touch on my outfit for the day and these shoes were surely it. They’re a very similar tone to the sweater and with some gold/pearl accents, I had a new outfit combination. I can easily see transitioning this to the right shade of jeans for the weekend and attempting the double-denim which I’ve yet to try.
