You’ll never find me anywhere near a mall on Black Friday but I did indulge in some online shopping Wednesday night (since you know, Black Friday really starts online Wednesday night. Next year, it will start on Halloween.) My rewards card was burning a hole in my wallet and after talking myself out of the J.Crew plaid Ettas (maybe if they didn’t have the studded toe…) I decided to pick up a few basics, including the Merino Fair Isle Sweater. I’m loving all of the heavier sweaters coming back in trend, but in slimmer shapes than in years past. This is a sweater that I can cozy up with a turtleneck and jeans to hang out on the family ski trip or dress up with a silk blouse underneath and dress pants and heels for work. 08427_KP3051 I almost looked past this sweater online since the cover photo showed this in navy/burgundy which didn’t catch my eye at first. I love the black and white mix and I’m glad I didn’t debate to order with the 30% promo because it’s already sold out in all sizes but XL. I haven’t been in to my store lately to see if they have it there. The sweater arrived today and I am in love.  It’s a thick sweater without being too thick and I really don’t think the sleeves are that short (they claim to be bracelet). I took my usual J.Crew sweater size of medium in this sweater, I probably could have gone up for a looser fit, but I like the more fitted look. I can see this sweater being in constant rotation for years to come.  A few other items came from the sale order I placed last week, including the Silk boy blouse in Tossed Hearts and wouldn’t you know, it’s a perfect pair with this sweater. I cannot wait to wear this combination of blouse and sweater together! Here’s a quick peek – I just need a good statement necklace to top it off and I will be all set!

So what do you think of this sweater? Can I pull it off casual and dressy? Would love to know what you think and thanks for visiting!
